The other day, I witnessed a curious event. A young boy found a trading card and promptly tore it up. When asked why, he calmly replied that he had plenty of cards at home and didn't like this one—it was replaceable.
Something about this exchange struck a chord with me. Sure, things can be replaceable, but people are not. Experiences and memories are not.
